When I was in America last month, I was lucky enough to meet up with some amazing families for beautiful sessions. Two of these were in New York, my most favourite place in the entire galaxy! I feel so incredibly grateful to have had these wonderful opportunities to travel, meet new people, all with my little family by my side. These photographers (and there are many) that travel the world for their jobs? That post on their Facebook and Instagram pages things like ‘yeah, just heading to Italy for another shoot’ and ‘Back in Spain….Again!’ ? like its the most normal, tiring, boring thing in the world? Its not. Its amazing. Its incredible! Its gobsmackingly extraordinary! Anyone that tells you otherwise is a big fat fibber. To be able to go to a place like New York and do something I absolutely love? To have someone fly me to Nashville just to photograph them? That is crazy! I could never be more grateful! I could never ever take an opportunity like that for granted. And all the while being a positive example (i hope) to my own girls that you CAN be a good mama AND wake up everyday and do something that makes you happy.
I’m sure if I lived in New York, Lindsey, (who is also a photographer) and I would spend lots of time together. People who laugh a lot are just the kind of humans I like to hang out with, and I’m sure, given enough time, my kids too would be cool like Stella. *sigh*. If only I could move to New York!!!!!
Thank you Mike and Lindsey for having me for the morning! It was an absolute dream come true to photograph you and Stella (and Gizmo). Thank you for showing me a great part of New York I hadn’t spent any time in before, and showing me just how great growing up in this city can be.
