But that is soon to change, as I literally have a million sessions and images to share. Ben has taken on a work contract in Western Australia, which will see him travelling all over, so the kids and I have flown home for a little while, and are back into normal life. He will fly back for Christmas, and then we’ll all head back over west together continuing the Caravan of Destiny Tour spending a little while coming home.

I thought a good way to get back into the blogging routine would be with a ‘What ____ Looks Like” post, so here are some images from the few days we spent in Cape Range National Park in Western Australia. It is the most incredible part of the world, and I’m already dreaming of ways to get back there. Amazing snorkelling and fishing, beautiful clear water, perfect weather. One of the days saw the first good rain we had for the whole trip, in the shape of a short but intense storm, but ended with the most incredible light and clouds!

Caravan of Destiny :: Week One & What the first week looks like http://elhoganphotography.com.au/index.php/caravan-of-destiny-week-one/ http://elhoganphotography.com.au/index.php/caravan-of-destiny-week-one/#comments Sun, 20 Jul 2014 10:02:51 +0000 http://elhoganphotography.com.au/blog/?p=4859 Well, we’ve been on the road for a week now, and it hasn’t been without its hiccups, but mostly its been amazing.

We embarked on this adventure for so many reasons, the main one being to spend more time together. Ben and I were sick of trudging through our days, filling them with work and ever increasing, unwanted stress, never spending quality time together as a family. Existing just to wake up each morning and do it all again. We knew something had to change, so we set about changing it.

We left a few weeks later than we wanted to, as I broke my finger and then got terribly sick, so we had to rush through Outback Queensland a little quicker than we wanted to, as we had bookings at Lawn Hill National Park. Thats where we are now, and it is one of the most amazing places I have ever been!

Here’s our first week in images. A week that comprised of ironing out wrinkles, lots and lots of driving, swimming under water falls, canoeing, hiking and Darcy need ing to find/use every public toilet possible over 2000km’s.

Here is a quick video of the sorts of things we’ll be doing. Its very exciting.

This is filmed on an afternoon spent in Lawn Hill National Park on Harry’s Birthday. Not a single soul for miles and miles. A beautiful and spiritual place.

This post is also part of my “What ___ Looks Like” group, so head over to the AMAZING Kelsey Gerhard to see her June!

What an evening in Autumn looks like…. http://elhoganphotography.com.au/index.php/what-an-evening-in-autumn-looks-like/ http://elhoganphotography.com.au/index.php/what-an-evening-in-autumn-looks-like/#comments Mon, 19 May 2014 13:30:15 +0000 http://elhoganphotography.com.au/blog/?p=4671 Another post in the “What _____ Looks Like” Circle. I’ve been a little slack with keeping up with this amazing group, but soon we will be off and away on our adventure around Australia, and I will be blogging lots and lots, so slack I shall be no longer! (thats the idea, anyway 😉 ).

These portraits were taken on a late afternoon over Easter while we were camping, and I just adore them. I love the light, and their salty skin and hair, remnants of the day spent in the ocean and on our bikes. I love Harry and Lily’s freckles, and the way I can see the changes in them as they grow seemingly before my eyes. And I love that in just a few more weeks, I’ll be spending much more time with them, with afternoons that will look just like this.

Be sure to head over to the Kara May’s wonderful blog to see her month http://www.karamayphotography.com/blog/?p=5411

What Summer freedom looks like :: February 2014 http://elhoganphotography.com.au/index.php/what-summer-freedom-looks-like-february-2014/ http://elhoganphotography.com.au/index.php/what-summer-freedom-looks-like-february-2014/#comments Mon, 10 Feb 2014 21:14:32 +0000 http://elhoganphotography.com.au/blog/?p=4502 So, I’m starting a 2nd personal project this year called “What _____ looks like”. Basically I fill in the blank with whatever takes my fancy. This is awesome in so many ways, but mainly because I was asked to join a group of amazing and astonishingly talented photographers from all across the globe who have been doing it for a while now, kind of like a blog circle. Australian Photographers don’t really do blog circles much, I’ve found, but basically I’ll leave a link at the end of these images to another blog, they’ll do the same etc etc, until you lucky things get to see a whole lot of beautiful images, peoples interpretation of “what ____ looks like”. And these other photographers are really good. I’m not joking. Some of my most favourites actually, so you definitely won’t be disappointed. This project, as well as The 5 Minute Project, is helping me fulfil my goals to shoot more for myself this year, experiment more and rip off my security blanket, so I’m stoked and very humbled to be a part of it.

This edition is about the freedom of summer……….

No be sure to head over to the amazing Amy Grace’s blog for her “What _____ looks like” . One of my favourite photographers and writers. She’s wonderful!
