I was so excited to photograph this beautiful family, because, lets face it, they’re pretty gorgeous, but I was also a little nervous! Kelly is an amazing and talented photographer, and when another photographer asks you to capture their family, its always a little nerve wracking, but when that photographer is Kelly Brown?! Baby whisperer, QLD Photographer of the Year, renowned throughout all the lands and oceans? well, thats when the butterflies start their backflips in your tummy. Luckily she’s also a lovely friend, whose kids are incredibly funny and made me laugh so hard, so once we got started it was just like hanging out. And also you can drink wine together once the session is over (the adults, not the kids guys!!)
which is a good end to any, day in my opinion. Thanks Rob and Kell for coming and hanging out, your kids are the best!!!

A few days before Christmas, I shot this wedding here in Brisbane. I’m so terribly slack when it comes to blogging the weddings I shoot, last year only sharing a few, but it was my last wedding of 2012, and it also happened to be one of my favourites. It was a very small, intimate celebration, and their hand written vows, inspired by Dr Seuss, were the very best I’ve heard. Dimity’s dress, a silvery blue, vintage inspired classic, well, it also took out my favourite dress of the year, so how could I not share it with you!!

This is Tess & Pete’s wedding from all the way back in October last year (told you I was behind in my blogging). It was a glorious day, full of colour and sunshine, at beautiful Toowong Rowing Club here in Brisbane.

Thank you Tess, Pete and your awesome little dude, Senon, for choosing me to capture your amazing day. All your hard work sure payed off!!

A big, huge, humungous thanks to my amazing friend Fo, from Moss Green Images, who was my 2nd shooter. I was incredibly unwell on the day and she held my hand, and was very gentle with me and even wiped gross fever sweat from my forehead. Now *thats* a real friend!!!

Lea & Chris {Byron Bay Wedding Photographer}

Lea & I met at a photography workshop and clicked straight away. We stayed in contact and I was ever so excited when she asked me to photograph her wedding in Byron Bay earlier this month. I was even more excited after her and Chris’ engagement shoot in Sydney, because I knew we were going to have a really, truly amazing time. I love meeting and getting to know people who make me laugh and who I have so much in common with.

Lea and a couple of her amazing girlfriends planned this wedding down to the very last detail, and they did a brilliant job. I think you can really learn a lot from someone by the lengths their friends will go to make them happy, and these girls really went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. We should all be so lucky to have friends like this in our lives.

It was a small and intimate affair, with guests travelling from all over to see them become a family and celebrate with them.

This is the story of Lea & Chris’ wedding.

It is a beautiful story.

It is one of laughter and of friends and of family, and above all else, it is a story of love.

And these things, I think, make the best, most beautiful stories.

I had such a fun time with Lea & Chris, whose wedding I’m shooting in a few weeks in Byron Bay. I love to laugh and adore hanging out with people that do too. Whether its with me or at me, I don’t care, just laugh a lot and we’ll be BFF’s in no time. It was freezing cold, windy and rained for most of the time we were together, but we laughed! so who cares. And I may or may not have given them a little fright when I spotted the rainbow and screamed at them to hurry up and stop yapping! Move!!!!! I mean, how often do you get a beautiful double rainbow over the Harbour Bridge!

Thanks you guys for choosing me, and laughing with me! I can’t wait to shoot your wedding!!!!
